Support During Your Recovery Journey

Post-surgical lymphatic drainage may be appropriate for clients recovering from certain cosmetic or medical procedures when their surgeon or treating medical provider has approved massage. Examples may include:

These are examples, not automatic eligibility. Every client must be sufficiently healed and appropriate for massage, and lymphatic drainage never replaces medical follow-up, prescribed treatment, or surgical aftercare.

A gentle promise

Your Safety Comes First

Your comfort and safety are important to us. Post-surgical lymphatic drainage is offered only when your healing stage is appropriate for massage.

We do not perform open-incision drainage, wound care, or massage over open wounds, unhealed incisions, or actively draining surgical sites.

Clients with medically placed surgical drains that collect fluid in a closed system may be considered individually, provided the surgical sites are healing appropriately, the drains can be safely accommodated, and their surgeon has approved massage.

We may request medical clearance or recommend postponing your appointment if your recovery is not yet appropriate for massage.

  • Not every client with surgical drains is eligible — each situation is assessed individually.
  • We never massage directly over drains, insertion sites, or healing incisions.
  • We do not offer wound manipulation, fluid expression, incision opening, or manual drainage through wounds.
  • We do not diagnose complications or give medical treatment instructions.

If you experience concerning symptoms, please contact your medical provider rather than booking massage. Massage does not replace professional medical care.

Not Sure If You're Ready to Book?

Every recovery journey is different. If you have questions about whether your current healing stage is appropriate for massage, you're welcome to contact us before scheduling. Your surgeon or medical provider should determine when massage is medically appropriate.

What to Expect at Your Session

Before Your Appointment

Follow your surgeon's instructions and confirm that massage is appropriate for your stage of healing. We may ask about your procedure, recovery timeline, current symptoms, and any surgical drains or restrictions.

During Your Session

Your therapist uses gentle, rhythmic techniques appropriate for your comfort and healing stage. Sessions are personalized, and pressure or positioning may be adjusted as needed.

After Your Session

Continue following your medical provider's recovery instructions. Any recommendations for future appointments are individualized — never a required treatment schedule.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I begin lymphatic drainage after surgery?

There is no single timeline appropriate for everyone. Your surgeon or treating medical provider should determine when massage is appropriate based on your procedure and healing progress.

Can I receive lymphatic drainage if I still have surgical drains?

Some clients with closed-system surgical drains may be eligible after individual assessment and approval from their surgeon. We do not provide open-wound drainage or wound care, and we do not massage over drain sites.

Does lymphatic drainage hurt?

Post-surgical lymphatic drainage generally uses gentle, rhythmic techniques rather than deep pressure. Your comfort and healing restrictions guide the session.

How many sessions will I need?

Every recovery is different. We offer individual sessions and prepaid packages, but we do not prescribe a fixed number of appointments. Your medical provider's recommendations and your individual needs should guide your decisions.

What should I wear?

Choose comfortable clothing that is easy to change in and out of, and continue following any garment or compression instructions provided by your surgeon.

Do you offer lymphatic drainage packages?

Yes. We offer prepaid packages of three, five, or ten sessions in 45- and 60-minute durations. Package appointments are provided by Michelle.
